Todd and Julie Chrisley to receive $1M settlement from state of Georgia
ATLANTA (CNN NEWSOURCE) — Imprisoned reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley just had a major legal victory.
The state of Georgia has agreed to pay them $1 million in a settlement.
It comes from a lawsuit the couple filed in 2019 against the state’s Department of Revenue.
They said the agency’s former director of special investigations improperly shared confidential tax information with their estranged daughter.
The purpose was allegedly to induce her to reveal compromising information about the couple.
The tax evasion case against the stars of “Chrisley Knows Best” was eventually settled back in 2019 with the pair paying about $150,000.
Both Chrisleys are in federal prison on a different case from 2022.
They were convicted on federal charges of conspiracy to defraud banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.
The couple is appealing that decision.
Todd Chrisley is serving his sentence in Florida; Julie Chrisley is serving hers in Kentucky.
