Tires and Tune Ups
Are you noticing poor fuel efficiency or performance from your vehicle? Maybe a rough idle? It’s time for a tune-up. A tune-up performed by your automotive professional will help extend and maintain the life of your vehicle. What is a tune-up? Let’s think spark, fuel, and air.
Spark is for spark plug. During the tune-up the technician will not only check the condition of the plugs, but also the wires of the coil that directly connects to the plug. Fuel is for the fuel system. During the tune-up, a fuel injection service may be performed. A fuel injection service will clean out the dirty deposits left behind by the gas that you’ve used over the years. Air is for air filter. A dirty air filter will contribute to poor performance of the motor as well.
A tune-up not only gets your car performing better, but it gives you the opportunity to learn of other items that may be coming down the line, such as tires, brakes, or other fluid exchanges. If your car’s a few years old and you’ve never had one, maybe it’s time. If you’re unsure, always check the owner’s manual or call your service technician.
