Time Change To Affect Alcohol Sales In Lexington

The change to Eastern Standard Time begins Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2:00 a.m., which will effectively make the official time 1:00 a.m. 

Lexington Police said the selling or delivery of distilled spirits, wine and malt beverages shall continue until 2:30 a.m.; allowed by ordinance. 

The thirty (30) minute grace period for consumption of alcoholic beverages purchased prior to 2:30 a.m. still applies.

Lexington RCO 3-21 states that the selling, giving away, or delivering of distilled spirits, wine and malt beverages shall not be permitted after 2:30 a.m.
