Three to interview for Scott County superintendent’s post

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Scott County Board of Education has chosen three finalists to interview for the position of superintendent based on the recommendation provided by the superintendent search screening committee at the June 10, 2021 board of education meeting.

Interviews will be conducted on Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 15 with a decision anticipated at the special-called board meeting on Thursday, June 17.

Out of respect for the privacy of the candidates, the board will not release the names of the finalists.

The search committee was made up of board member Susan Duncan, classified employee Corinda Toy, parents Colman Elridge and Linda Courtney, principal Maria Bennett, and teachers Melanie Bishop and Brent Merritt.

Scott County, located 15 minutes north of Lexington, is one of the largest districts in Kentucky with 17 schools, 1,500 staff and nearly 10,000 students.

The new superintendent will replace Dr. Kevin Hub, whose retirement is effective Dec. 1, 2021.
