Three teens, including two juveniles, charged after shots fired in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Three people, including two juveniles, are facing charges after police say shots were fired and a stolen vehicle was found early Tuesday morning.

According to a release from the Lexington Police Department, the incident began shortly after midnight on April 15. Around 12:15 a.m., West Sector patrol officers reported hearing gunfire in the area of Cambridge Drive. Around the same time, officers received a Flock license plate reader alert about a stolen vehicle in the area of Alexandria Drive and Leestown Road.

Police say an officer located the stolen vehicle in the 1300 block of Alexandria Drive.

19-year-old Antonio Sparks was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000, fleeing or evading police in the second degree, violation of conditions of release, and an unrelated warrant. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Two juveniles were also arrested. A 16-year-old was charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police, and possession of a handgun by a minor. A 14-year-old faces the same charges. Both teens are being held at a juvenile detention center.
