Three People, Including Lexington Firefighter Taken To Hospital From House Fire
Three people went to the hospital, including a Lexington firefighter, following a house fire Friday evening.
Investigators said shortly after 6:00 p.m., a recliner caught fire in the basement of a home at 1073 Chinoe Road in Lexington.
Firefighters said smoke quickly filled the home.
The fire was put out quickly.
Two people inside the house were taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation, according to investigators. Their names weren’t released.
Firefighters said two other people in the home safely escaped.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution after falling down a flight of stairs fighting the fire, according to investigators. The firefighter’s name wasn’t released. Firefighters said he was expected to be okay.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
