Three more arrested in Step Ahead daycare abuse investigation, bringing total to nine
RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The number of arrests tied to the ongoing investigation into alleged abuse at Step Ahead Daycare in Richmond has climbed to nine.
According to Richmond Police, Amanda Spears was taken into custody late last week. On Monday, two more individuals were arrested in connection with the case: Amaris Hamilton, charged with wanton endangerment, and Abigail Greer, who was wanted on multiple counts including endangering the welfare of a minor. Khrystian Greer was also arrested and charged with criminal abuse involving a child under 12.
The daycare’s owners, Jessica Houk and Theo Hursey, along with several other employees, were previously arrested as the investigation unfolded.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
