Unconscious man in car leads to drug bust

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Lay was patrolling Hager Drive when he he says he witnessed a passenger of a vehicle parked in front of a home on Hager Drive unconscious. Deputy Lay made contact with the man and he says when the man showed his identification, a syringe fell from his pocket. Deputy Paul Lay detained 39-yeara old Stanley Richardson, of Richmond, and he says a further search produced more syringes, two of which were uncapped and one containing an unknown liquid.

Upon further investigation, Deputy Lay seized Heroin, Methamphetamine, suspected Cocaine, Hydrocodone pills, Alprazolam pills, Oxycodone pills, and Suboxone strips. Also recovered were digital scales, empty baggies, marijuana, marijuana pipes, and $1090 cash.

According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, Stanley Richardson was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree – Drug Unspecified, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest, and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree – Police Officer. Along with Richardson, 43-year old Roy Coffey, of Berea, and 36-year old Tiffany McCormick, of Richmond, were arrested at the scene.

Investigators say Coffey and McCormick were charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1 Degree – Methamphetamine, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Heroin, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree – Drug Unspecified, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Drug Unspecified, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1 Degree – Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Roy Coffey received additional charges of Possession of Marijuana, Promoting Contraband, and False Statement/Misrepresent to Receive Benefits over $100. Richardson, Coffey, and McCormick were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
