Three arrested in Lexington child abuse and exploitation investigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Three people are facing serious charges after Lexington Police Crimes Against Children detectives acted on tips about possible child abuse and child sexual abuse material.

According to police, on Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence as part of the investigation. The operation led to the arrests of 24-year-old Tyler Bean, 25-year-old Sarah Winburn, and 27-year-old Tamuz Babatunde.

Police say Bean faces dozens of charges, including:

  • 25 counts of sexual crimes against animals

  • 12 counts of incest involving a victim under the age of 12

  • 8 counts of possession or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor

  • 7 counts of sodomy 1st degree (victim under 12)

  • 7 counts of distributing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor

  • 6 counts of sexual abuse 1st degree (victim under 12)

  • Multiple counts of attempted incest and attempted rape (victim under 12)

  • 2 counts of criminal abuse 1st degree (victim under 12)

  • 1 count of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in prohibited activities

Winburn and Babatunde each face two counts of criminal abuse 1st degree involving a child 12 or under.

All three suspects are being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
