Thousands Gather For July 4th Parade
Thousands of people came to downtown Lexington to watch the July 4th Parade, despite steady rains and occasional downpours.
Floats started rolling down Main Street around 2 this afternoon. It wasn’t the typical scene for a July 4th Parade – instead of t-shirts and shorts, spectators wore ponchos and gripped umbrellas.
Mayor Jim Gray embraced the situation, donning a rain jacket and carrying a megaphone.
