Third man arrested for murder of Cumberlands baseball player

CHARLOTTE, N.C.(WSOC/WTVQ)- Police have arrested a third suspect for the murder of a University of the Cumberlands baseball player in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Demonte McCain, 17, is charged with Zachary Finch’s murder. McCain also faces attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police arrested two 15-year-olds in July.

Finch was a 21-year-old baseball player at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. His family lived near Charlotte, North Carolina.

Investigators say Finch was shot and killed while trying to buy a cellphone using an app called Letgo.
