Third horse dies during Keeneland’s spring meet

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Keeneland confirms a third horse has died during this year’s spring meet.

Keeneland says a horse named Amandine was injured during the eighth race at Keeneland Friday.

The track says the horse was later euthanized.

Keeneland isn’t sure what the cause of the injury was right now.

The horse named Cathedral Reader suffered a broken leg back on April 6 and was later put down.

A horse named Mandel also suffered an injury on April 10. That horse was also later put down.
