Therapy Dogs Helping To Calm Stressed Students

For a third year, EKU officials brought more than a dozen certified therapy dogs to campus to help lower the stress of their students as finals week approaches. The dogs stopped at 3 different campus locations Wednesday.

Students say playing with the dogs makes for a great break from homework and studying.

The school’s counseling center only planned to bring the dogs to campus one year, but were brought back by popular demand.

They now visit the week before finals during the fall and spring semesters.

Last year, more than 3,000 students came to play with and pet the calming dogs.

Stress balls were handed out to the students who prefer cats over dogs.
