The Campus Kitchen grand reopening at UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – There was a grand reopening Wednesday at a popular place on the University of Kentucky campus.

The campus kitchen got a makeover, paid for with grant money with support from several UK colleges and departments.

It’s a way to teach students where food comes from while also helping them prepare healthy meals.

“We wanted to build a sense of community so, with the renovation, we really focused on creating comfortable table seating where students from all diff majors across campus can get together, connect, and have a conversation over a meal,” said Tammy Stephenson with UK’s Dietetics and Human Nutrition.

And those meals will come together with herbs from an herb garden students will tend right in the space.
