LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Texas man is sentenced to more than two years in prison for pleading guilty to making threats against a University of Kentucky student.

The student filed a complaint in 2016 about receiving threatening messages on social media from 24-year-old Diontre Davis.

In 2017, Davis was arrested when he walked into UK’s Buell Armory and an employee spotted him reaching for a handgun in his pants.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky, Davis was sentenced to 46 months for pleading guilty to a federal charge of harassing communications and must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence.
