Ten people arrested for blocking entrance to only Kentucky clinic that provides abortions
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- In Louisville Saturday, ten people were arrested outside the only Kentucky clinic that provides abortions.
Police say around 6 a.m. they saw ten people blocking the entrance to the EMW Women’s Clinic. After asking the people to leave several times, police say they made ten arrests for trespassing.
By noon protesters rallied outside Metro Corrections. A group called “Operation Rescue” organized the group. Police say many of the demonstrators came from outside Kentucky.
At the end of March, a federal judge issued a restraining order that is keeping Kentucky officials from revoking the clinic’s license. The state says the clinic isn’t complying with state laws.
The case is scheduled to go back to court in September.
