New Circle Road ramps at Leestown temporarily closed through Nov. 26

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Drivers in Lexington can expect detours and delays as work continues on the New Circle Road widening project.

The ramps to and from Leestown Road are now closed and will remain shut down through November 26 at 5 p.m., according to transportation officials.

The ongoing project, set for completion in 2027, aims to improve traffic flow and increase capacity along New Circle Road and the Leestown Road interchange.

Motorists are urged to follow posted detour signs and plan extra travel time during the three-week closure. Additional traffic changes are expected later this month and into December as work progresses.
