Teen shot while sleeping, bullet came through ceiling

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) -Frankfort Police are investigating a shooting on Centennial Avenue that left a teenager with a hip injury.

Officers say they were called to Centennial Avenue around 9:30 Monday morning.

When they got there, they say the 19-year-old victim told them he had been shot while sleeping.  According to officers, the bullet came through the ceiling from the apartment above.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say no one was home at the upstairs apartment when they went to investigate.  They are now waiting for a search warrant.
