Teen arraigned in 2013 slaying in Kentucky
HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A teenager from southwestern Kentucky has been arraigned on charged that he killed a woman whose body was found in a vacant apartment 18 months ago.
The Kentucky New Era reported (http://bit.ly/1tmwAKH ) that 19-year-old James D. Day made his first appearance in Christian County Circuit Court on Wednesday in the death of 44-year-old Kathleen Davis.
Hopkinsville police say DNA evidence linked Day to the strangulation death of Davis on April 6, 2013.
Police have not released a possible motive in the death.
Interim Police Chief Clayton Sumner says the investigation remains open and investigators are still seeking information about Davis’ death.
Day has a pretrial conference scheduled for Dec. 3.
