Teacher accused of snorting pill in class

MENIFEE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A teacher went from the classroom to jail in Menifee County after students say they saw her snort a crushed pill.

The Menifee County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call at around 1 p.m. Thursday from school officials at Menifee County Elementary/Middle School in Frenchburg.

According to the sheriff, students say they saw 41-year-old Cherish Rednour cut up a pill with a credit card, make a line then snort it.

She then slumped over her desk.

The sheriff says Rednour failed the field sobriety tests deputies conducted on her and she was arrested.

She is charged with public intoxication (controlled substance), possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Menifee County Board of Education says Rednour is suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
