Taylorsville man charged with murder in deadly Nelson County crash
NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Taylorsville man is facing multiple charges, including murder, after a deadly crash earlier this summer in Nelson County.
Kentucky State Police say 25-year-old Jason Wurts was arrested last Wednesday and charged with murder, DUI, speeding more than 26 miles over the limit, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief.
Investigators said the crash happened in June on West Stephen Foster Avenue in Bardstown. Wurts lost control of his car, hitting a tree and an unoccupied vehicle. His passenger, 27-year-old Morgan Williamson, also of Taylorsville, was killed in the wreck.
Wurts was flown to the hospital after the crash but has since been released and is now in custody. The case remains under investigation.
