Tax preparer faces sex abuse charges involving second woman

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 63-year-old Pulaski County tax preparer has been indicted with a second case of sexual abuse of his one of his clients.

According to Sheriff Greg Speck, Terry Flinchum, of Somerset, was indicted by a grand jury last week on first-degree sexual abuse charges.

Flinchum originally was charged on April 9, 2021, by Lt. Bobby Jones on charges that a woman in her 30s had reported she had been sexually abused by Flinchum in February 2021, Speck said.

On April 29, 2021, a second woman, also in her 30s, reported she had the same type of encounter with Flinchum in February, the sheriff said in a statement. That case was presented to the grand jury resulting in last week’s indictment.

According to the additional allegation made by the second victim, the abuse occurred at Flinchum’s residence/office on Whitetail Run off Ferry Road where he had prepared her taxes during the last three years. That was the same location the first offense occurred, Speck said.

Flinchum is free on a $5,000 cash/property bond.

Flinchum is scheduled to be arraigned on June 24, 2021, at 9 a.m. in Pulaski County
Circuit Court.

The case remains under investigation by Lieutenant Bobby Jones and the Pulaski County
Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation’s Division.
