Taste of Jessamine County
First Southern National Bank Community President Sam Lee drops by the studio to spread the word about the upcoming 20th annual Taste of Jessamine County event, coming up on Friday!
At Taste of Jessamine County, guests purchase $10 tickets for unlimited trips through the serving tables where Chefs provide samples – a “Taste” of their dishes. Organizers anticipate having over 60 cooks this year, preparing appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Examples of dishes this year are: Buffalo Cheese Dip, Hash Brown Casserole, Pizza by the Scoop, Meatballs, Ham Biscuits, Pulled Pork, Bacon Fried Rice, and White Chocolate Banana Pudding.
The all-volunteer event featuring local chefs preparing a wide variety of dishes will benefit three non-profits this year: Adventure Serve, Lord’s Legacy, and Revive Ministries. Adventure Serve Ministries, based in Wilmore, Kentucky, provides guidance for mission trips throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. Revive Ministries forms alliances with local businesses in and around Jessamine County and uses its influences to create lasting impacts in the lives of individuals. Also located in the heart of Jessamine County, Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries, Inc. provides faith-infused and Jesus-centered service and care to those diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
Along with the dazzling array of delicious foods, Taste of Jessamine County will have over 100 items in silent and live auction items, including a variety of gift baskets donated by restaurants, salons, and local businesses; gift cards and tickets for numerous restaurants and attractions including Disney World, Lexington Legends, Keeneland, Kings Island, and My Old KY Dinner Train; log furniture; pottery and woodwork donated by local artists; jewelry; hotel accommodations, and much more.
Taste of Jessamine County will be held at the R.J. Corman Hangar 2 in Nicholasville from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
