Talley’s BBQ feeds homeless
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Talley’s BBQ restaurant fed the homeless a free meal Sunday afternoon.
Chef Love Talley feeds the homeless at least three times a year, as well as feeding the first responders and pastors in the community.
The event was from 12pm – 3pm.
Chef Talley says he prepared enough food to feed 400 people. He says if anyone wanted seconds they were welcome to it.
This is Chef Talley’s fifth year doing this and he says no one should go unfed.
“It’s just always been part of my heart to give back,” says Talley. “I feel that the Lexingtonians and central Kentucky area supports me and supports my business so the least I can do is take that money and just actually give back to the less fortunate.”
The menu included fried Whiting fish, burgoo, tossed salad, biscuits, and crisp glazed apples.
Chef Talley says in previous years he’s had around 500 people come out to eat.
