Talks Underway To Try To Avoid Lexington Philharmonic Musician Strike
Talks are underway to try to avoid a strike by musicians of the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.
The musicians aren’t happy about job security, loss of employment and a clause that restricts their ability to perform with other groups.
Dave Shelton, of the Philharmonic Orchestra Committee, told ABC 36 News in a phone message that talks are underway to avoid a strike.
He described the talks as "cordial."
The Orchestra’s first scheduled concert of the new season is this Friday at the Singletary Center for the Arts at the University of Kentucky.
