72 high school students picked for competitive summer program

The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs, within the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, today announced 72 high school students have been selected to participate in the 2019 GSE program at Northern Kentucky University from June 23 – July 13.

$40,000 funding increase to feed KY children this summer

Gov. Steve Beshear and First Lady Besheare announced on June 9 that the Kentucky Association of Food Banks will have an additional $40,000 in funding to increase the reach of their summer program.

‘Kids Eat Here’ Kicks Off Free Summer Meals Program

Kids Eat Here, a new local initiative to promote the federal Summer Food Service Program, aims to ensure that all students have enough to eat when school is out. “This initiative is all about leveraging resources to make sure no child goes hungry,” Mayor Jim Gray said Wednesday in announcing the kickoff. “We believe the program can reach even more children.”
