SUV hit by CSX train in Mt. Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ)- About an hour and 15 minutes south of Lexington a train hit an SUV Saturday afternoon in Mount Vernon.

Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

Firefighters say the crash happened off Hummel Road.

When they got there they found the driver out of the car with non-life threatening injuries.

The train involved was a CSX train.

Firefighters say CSX and the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
