SUV crashes into store, water bottle blamed

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a water bottle was behind an accident that sent an SUV crashing into a store in Manchester Tuesday.

The accident happened at the Family Dollar store in the Clay County Shopping.

The Manchester Police Department says the driver of a 2017 Nissan Rogue jumped a curb and slammed into the front of the store.

Police say the driver was unable to apply the brakes because a bottle of water fell onto the floorboard and rolled under the brake pedal.

The driver and passenger were taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
