Suspicious House Fire In Madison County

With no one living there and no electricity to the home, firefighters say a house fire in Madison County is suspicious.

Someone driving by 214 Maple Grove Road called authorities to say the house was engulfed in flames.  That person also noticed a vehicle sitting in the road.

Madison County Fire and volunteer firefighters from White Hall responded around 11 p.m.

They said when they got there flames were coming out of every window, the front door and two or three places in the roof.

One firefighter had to be treated for smoke inhalation and dehydration.  They said after he got some rest and fluids he was okay are returned to work.

A Madison County firefighter said they called the owner of the home and he does not have insurance.  He also said the last tenants moved out recently.

The house fire is under investigation and the State Police’s arson team may take over.
