Suspects charged in murder of Richmond police officer back in court
RICHMOND. Ky. (WTVQ)- The two men charged with the murder of Richmond police officer Daniel Ellis, were back in court this morning.
36-year-old Raleigh Sizemore and 27-year-old Gregory Ratliff, went before a judge to discuss the status of their cases.
Lawyers for the two defendants told the judge they plan to file a motion to change the location of the trial.
Sizemore and Ratiliff are accused of shooting and killing Officer Ellis inside of an apartment, after attempting to rob a woman at a Richmond gas station.
The two will be back in court in September.
Their trial is scheduled for July of next year.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
