UPDATE: Suspects accused in the death investigation of Amber Spradlin due in court
UPDATE: All three suspects pleaded not guilty on all charges.
Michael McKinney III is being held on $5 million cash bond, Michael McKinney II’s bond was set at $250,000 cash, and the bond for Josh Mullins sits at $100,000 cash.
FLOYD COUNTY, KY, (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The three suspects charged in connection to the murder of 39-year-old Amber Spradlin are due in court at 3 p.m. for an arraignment.
State police say 24-year-old Michael McKinney III is charged with murder and several complicity to tampering with physical evidence, while his father, 56-year-old Michael McKinney II and 23-year-year old Josh Mullins are charged with complicity to tampering with physical evidence.
Spradlin was found stabbed multiple times at a home on Arkansas Creek Road in the Martin Community on June 18, 2023.
According to the indictments, Michael McKinney III, or MK, the name he goes by, allegedly murdered Amber Spradlin on or about June 18th of last year at the Arkansas Creek address, by repeatedly stabbing her. The indictment also alleges he tampered with evidence, by removing or concealing the handle from the broken knife used in Spradlin’s murder. According to the indictment, he also faces charges that he allegedly cleaned up blood from two sinks in the home, and destroyed clothing he wore when he allegedly murdered Spradlin. McKinney III is also accused of destroying a DVR containing surveillance video and a hard drive from a computer, which, the indictment says contained information about surveillance cameras at the home, where officials say the murder took place.
