Suspect taken into custody after multi-agency search in Jessamine County

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Authorities say a suspect wanted in Jessamine County has been taken into custody without incident following a search Wednesday afternoon.

According to Nicholasville Police, officers from their department, Lexington Police, and Jessamine County deputies were actively searching earlier in the day for 23-year-old Andrew Snell, who was reportedly armed with a knife in the area of Tates Creek Road and Ashgrove Road.

Police said he fled through a creek during a foot chase and was likely wet at the time.

Residents in the area had been advised to stay indoors and keep doors locked as the search unfolded.

Authorities confirmed shortly after 3 p.m. that Snell was safely apprehended.
