Suspect in McCullough Drive shooting arrested

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest has been made in connection to a weekend shooting in Lexington.

Officers say they went to an apartment in the 1700 block of McCullough Drive around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday on a report of an assault with a firearm involved.

When they arrived, police say they found a woman with injuries to her hand and hip.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators say that the woman and 23-year-old Grm’yko Chenault had gotten into an argument, and that Chenault pulled a gun and shot the woman.

Officers say Chenault later turned himself in at police headquarters.

He was taken to the Fayette Co. Detention Center.
