Suspect in activist’s murder due back in court for hearing

The 20-year-old faces a $1 million bond in the shooting of Quaynell King

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A suspect accused of murdering Lexington community activist Quaynell King is due in court Friday morning for a preliminary hearing.

Court records show the hearing for 20-year-old Tiquan Anderson is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Last week, during an arraignment, a judge set Anderson’s bond at $1 million.

Lexington police say Anderson is charged with murder in connection to the shooting of King, 44. Investigators reported that King was shot while in his vehicle outside an apartment complex on Versailles Road, he died later on December 1 at a hospital.
