LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man has been arrested, after reportedly trying to rob the Rite Aid on Richmond Road.
Police say they were called to the Rite Aid at around 10:40 a.m.
They say the man entered the store, and told the clerk he had a bomb strapped to his chest and demanded money.
Officers say the employee refused the man’s demands, at which point the suspect ran from the store, grabbing a purse from a woman who was walking through the parking lot, and took off down Patchen Drive.
Police set up a perimeter around the area, and eventually found the suspect Fernando A. Gomez on Gribbon Drive behind the Extended Stay Hotel.
