Surge in full swing as new COVID cases set new Fayette marks
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The records continue to mount for new coronavirus cases in Fayette County.
The county confirmed 255 new cases Wednesday, the highest single day ever. That means the county has now seen its four highest days from Saturday to Wednesday and six of its eight highest days since Nov. 4, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s daily morning report Thursday.
Wednesday’s 255 cases pushed the county’s total to 13,090. The county crossed a 1,000-case barrier in just six days, the fastest since the outbreak began in March.
The county recorded no new deaths, leaving the number of people lost to coronavirus-related causes at 103.
The county has had 1,757 cases so far in November, according to the Health Department.
The number of reported cases has grown steadily each month during the outbreak with November on pace to set a new record:

- 143, April
- 507, May
- 793, June
- 1,702 July
- 2,538, August
- 2,804, September
- 2,736, October
