Super Saturday
CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WTVQ) – People in Cynthiana were enjoying the weather Saturday morning when it started raining, ping pong balls that is.
A helicopter flew over the parking lot, dropping one-thousand of the ping pong balls.
Those who collected them got discounts and other prizes from various downtown businesses.
It was the opening for the city’s first super Saturday.
“It’s a day of celebration of all things, all people, all businesses and all events in Cynthiana. It’s a way to bring everybody into town, get them in our local businesses shopping, participating in events, and kind of showcasing what Cynthiana’s about.”
Other events throughout the day included a fire truck pull and a barbecue contest.
Organizers say they hope to make this an annual event.
