Sturgill Simpson coming to Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Country star Sturgill Simpson has announced his fall tour dates, which includes a stop in Lexington on September 27th. His band will play at Rupp Arena.
The Kentucky-born singer also announced his new identity as Johnny Blue Skies, along with his reformed band consisting of original members Laur Joamets on guitar, Miles Miller on drums and Kevin Black on bass. Additionally, Robbie Crowell, formerly of Midland, joins the lineup on keyboard.
Fans will be able to experience Simpson (Johnny Blue Skies) and his band on the upcoming Why Not? tour.
He also will drop a new album, “Passage Du Desir,” scheduled for release on July 12th, according to his website.
Pre-sale tickets for Simpson’s tour will be available starting June 12th. Fans will need to register on Simpson’s website here.
A limited number of general on-sale tickets will be released on June 14th.
