Study finds AI-exposed jobs growing faster than other occupations
(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – While many workers fear artificial intelligence could replace their jobs, new research suggests the opposite is happening, at least for now.
According to a new analysis from Vanguard, jobs considered highly exposed to AI automation are actually growing at a faster pace than other occupations.
The study examined roughly 140 occupations viewed as most vulnerable to AI-driven replacement, including office and law clerks, human resources assistants, and data scientists.
Some companies have recently announced layoffs or position reductions, citing AI’s ability to automate certain entry-level tasks or make existing workers more efficient. However, Vanguard’s research found no evidence that AI is causing widespread job losses across the workforce.
Researchers say the technology is not yet advanced enough to fully replace large numbers of workers.
In fact, Vanguard found employment among occupations with high AI exposure increased slightly over the past two years. By contrast, job growth across all other occupations has slowed during the same period.
