Students turn out for UK’s FUSION 2016 event

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Hundreds of University of Kentucky students took time on Tuesday pitching in to help the community at the UK FUSION 2016 event.

UK FUSION, which stands for UK For Unity and Service in Our Neighborhoods, is the Commonwealth’s largest single-day service event.

Students gather on the Johnson Center fields, and then volunteer out to more than 60 agencies across Lexington.

Volunteer work includes serving meals to the hungry, organizing donations at the local shelter, and beautifying community gardens, among other volunteer opportunities.
