Students safe and uninjured after fire on Madison Co. school bus

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – 35 students are safe after a fire broke out in a Madison County school bus Thursday afternoon at it traveled on the Exit 90 overpass by I-75.

The bus was transporting students from B. Michael Caudill Middle School and Madison Central High School home from school.

A statement from Madison County Schools says the fire started in the engine of the bus, and that the driver immediately evacuated all of the students when smoke was first detected.
