Student stabbed at Pulaski County High School

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – A student at Pulaski County High School is in the hospital after being stabbed at the school Wednesday afternoon.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says the 18-year-old student was stabbed by a 17-year-old at around 1 p.m. as classes were changing.

The injured student’s condition is not known at this time.

The sheriff’s office says the victim was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional hospital, but was immediately flown to UK Hospital.

The suspect is in custody. Deputies say the student is charged with assault.

The school was put on lockdown after the incident happened. The lockdown was lifted around 2:06 p.m.

No other students were injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
