Three-alarm fire at Excel Equine in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire Friday at Excel Equine in Shelby County.

Investigators say the fire started around 12:30 p.m. at the business on Kentucky Street.

Thick, black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

Firefighters eventually allowed the fire to burn because the building was old and potentially not sturdy.  No injuries were reported.

The building was also known as Tapp’s Feed and Farm Supply.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
