Street closures scheduled for 2019 4th of July events

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- During the Fourth of July events Wednesday and Thursday in downtown Lexington, there will be some street closures.

Wednesday, July 3, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. during the Patriotic Concert at Transylvania/Gratz Park:

-W Third St between N Broadway and N Upper St

-W Second St between N Upper St and N Broadway

-Mechanic St between N Upper St and Market St

-Market St between W Second St and W Third St

-N Mill St between W Third St and W Second St

Thursday, July 4, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. during the Downtown Street Festival and Parade:

-Short St closed between N Mill St and N MLK

– Midland Ave closed entirely from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for parade staging

-Main St closed between Midland Ave and Mill St from 2 p.m. until parade ends

Closures from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the RJ Corman Railyard fireworks:

– Inbound N Broadway and inbound Newtown Pike at Third St.

-Inbound Leestown Rd at N Forbes Rd.

-E Main St at MLK

-Oliver Lewis Way between Main St and W High St.

-Inbound S Broadway diverted to W Vine St.

Police may close other streets or extend the above listed closures as needed depending on crowd size.
