Storm-related death toll in Kentucky rises to 11 after latest fatality confirmed
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The death toll from last weekend’s powerful winter storm has now climbed to 11 across Kentucky.
Governor Andy Beshear announced the latest weather-related death Wednesday night, saying a 55-year-old man from Livingston County has died as a result of the storm’s dangerous conditions.
According to the governor, all families impacted by the storm will receive assistance through the Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund, which will help cover funeral expenses for each of the victims.
State officials continue urging residents to use extreme caution as recovery efforts continue, reminding Kentuckians that lingering ice, cold temperatures and power issues can still pose serious risks in many areas.
