Storm Hits Lexington’s Clay Avenue

Severe weather took its toll on Lexington’s Clay Avenue Saturday.

Neighbors along the street say the storm hit between 11am and Noon, and brought with it high winds and lightning.

One witness says she saw a tree hit split by lightning. She says just as she was walking outside she saw a large portion of the tree fall into the middle of the street and on to her car.

Multiple power lines were down along the street.

Kentucky Utilities sent multiple crews to the area, spending most of the day cleaning up and restoring power.
