Stolen puppy Wendell found safe in Jessamine County, adopted into forever home
JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — There’s good news out of Jessamine County: Wendell, the 4-month-old pit bull mix who was stolen from Animal Care and Control, has not only been found safe but also has a new forever home.
Police say recovering Wendell quickly became a top priority for the patrol division. Using FLOCK Safety cameras, officers were able to track the suspect’s vehicle and secure a confession.
With the help of the Nelson and Boyle County Sheriff’s Offices, Wendell was located in Nelson County. Authorities say criminal charges against the suspect are expected soon.
Animal Care and Control thanked the community, media coverage, and law enforcement for rallying together to bring Wendell home. Officials say the puppy is now safe, loved, and ready for a happy future.
