Stolen items recovered; three people arrested
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies recovered stolen items from a recent burglary and arrested three people.
Deputies say around $6,000 worth of items were stolen on Cane Creek Road on August 10, 2017.
The investigation led deputies to a home on KY 229 south of London on August 17. As the law enforcement vehicles pulled into the driveway, a man took off running around the house and threw items into an overgrown area, according to deputies.
Following a brief scuffle with the man, he was taken into custody, according to deputies. He was identified as 49-year old Farlin Lawson, of London.
Investigators say Lawson threw drug paraphernalia into weeds as he ran from deputies. They also say Lawson had suspected crystal meth in his possession when he was arrested.
Deputies say they found 38-year old Wendee Sizemore, of Lily, in the driveway of the home. They say she drove the van that was used to load the stolen items into and that it was driven to another location where the burglars tried to trade them for crystal meth.
Investigators say they found needles, suspected methamphetamine and several stolen items from the Cane Creek Road burglary in the van. Some of those items included a weed eater, camera, electronic tablets and tools. Deputies say some of the items had been defaced and altered.
The third suspect in the case, 37-year old Daniel Day, of London, was found with stolen property, meth, syringes and other drug paraphernalia, according to investigators.
All three suspects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center facing a number of charges.
