Stolen gun found after chase

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police locate a stolen gun following a foot chase in Lexington.

They say they were called at around 9 p.m. Tuesday about a suspicious man carrying a long gun.

An officer spotted the man a few minutes later on Angliana Avenue and chased him.

They say during the chase, the man tossed the gun.Officers caught up to the suspect and arrested him.

They found the gun, described as a long rifle. They believe the gun is stolen, but say they are not yet sure if the rifle is one of the weapons stolen out of a Lexington police officer’s car in Jessamine County about a week ago.

Police say the man is under arrest for fleeing and evading police, and carrying a concealed and deadly weapon but have not released his name.
