Statue relocation fund now taking tax-deductible donations
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The efforts to move two Confederate statues out of Cheapside Park in downtown Lexington continue.
The group “Take Back Cheapside” and community volunteers have set up the Lexington, Ky Statue Relocation Fund at Blue Grass Community Foundation to help pay for relocation of the John Hunt Morgan and John C. Breckinridge statues.
Two Lexington-based businesses, Prometheus Foundry LLC and Duncan Machinery Movers, have offered to move the statues free of charge, but the city still expects additional costs to arise.
Donations to the fund are tax-deductible and will go directly towards covering the costs of moving the statues to a new location.
You can donate to the fund here.
